New Zealand is often identified with exciting sports and leisure, but today there is a growing awareness of the country’s heritage with its roots in the culture of the Maori people.

The Nelson region has become a new Mecca for artists from all over the world and many have made it their home. It has also become the birthplace of New Zealand Wearable Art Awards.

In this film we will meet some of the international artists who have made New Zealand their new home. Strong colours inspired by the Maori heritage and a very nice climate let them express their creativeness both in art and way of living.
