A
“New Sun” rose over paradise in 1966, the sun of the atomic bomb. Massive amounts of radioactive material spread over the entire South Pacific. The French rulers assured people that it was safe and that it would lead to economic development. Instead it led to poisoning of the environment. Today many former self-sufficient families from the islands of Polynesia have moved to the slum in Tahiti.
